Basket Auction

Updated Information to Come

Dear Community Member,

I want to invite you to participate in a very special event.

Our 8th Annual Polish-American Heritage Day will take place on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Rd, Austintown OH 44515. Polish Day is the annual fundraiser that helps support our community education and involvement programs all year long.

This family-oriented event will start with a polka mass, followed by three live polka bands, contests, workshops and vendor displays! Folk art demonstrations and performances also are on the entertainment lineup.

This event is sponsored by PolishYoungstown, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation (#800-551-224) created to inspire and educate area residents on all things Polish. Its mission is to promote Polish culture and ethnic awareness in the Mahoning Valley area. Its goal is to celebrate Polish customs with accuracy and liveliness. All the proceeds from the basket raffle and silent auction go to benefit our youth programming, such as the Polish Kids Corner, Krakowiaki Polish Folk Circle and scholarships for Polish summer camp and study abroad programs.

These programs were created to share our rich, colorful Polish heritage with the next generation. Children ages 4-14 years enjoy learning about Polish traditions, language, and songs and create a craft to take home. The instructors strive to convey to participants an appreciation of our authentic Polish culture and heritage through exploration of dance, music, language study and folk art in a fun and supportive environment.

We need your help to make these efforts a success!

You, your employer, or both can donate to the Silent Auction or Basket Raffle. Some items that have sold well in other auctions are gift baskets including vodka, holiday items, children’s items, food items, gift certificates, electronic equipment, artwork and books. I have enclosed a donation form for you to complete.

WHY DO IT? Your donation may qualify for a federal charitable contribution deduction (consult your tax advisor) but it will DEFINITELY will help us to educate the next generation about our colorful culture and its influence on the Mahoning Valley!

Thank you in advance for your support of this educational event. Together we can make a difference!

Sincerely,
Aundrea Cika Heschmeyer
